We’re rapidly approaching the point where the last good player in college football should turn off the lights on his way out the door.

The latest player to leave school early is LSU running back Jeremy Hill, a third-year sophomore, who announced his decision via Twitter.

Hill was suspended for one game and a quarter of another for after being arrested for simple battery outside a bar, but still led the Tigers with 1,401 yards last year.

Hill’s an interesting draft prospect who could go in the first three rounds, and with the rookie salary structure set, he’s decided to start the clock on getting to a second contract sooner.

The old record of 73 early entries appears set to go down in a big way this spring, with some thinking 100 or more players could leave school early.
