Report: Lionel Vital to interview with Bucs a second time

The Buccaneers may be zeroing in on their next general manager.

Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that Falcons director of player personnel Lionel Vital will have a second interview with the Buccaneers on Tuesday to become Mark Dominik’s replacement in Tampa. PFT reported that Vital was one of the candidates early this month and he would seem to be the frontrunner for the job with a second meeting in the near future.

If Vital does get the job, his replacement in Atlanta should probably be your pick in an office pool concerning G.M. candidates for 2015. Rams General Manager Les Snead made the jump from the Falcons director of player personnel job in 2012 and Jaguars General Manager David Caldwell made the same move last year.

Giants V.P. of player evaluation Marc Ross, Redskins director of pro personnel Morocco Brown, and Titans V.P. of player personnel Lake Dawson have also reportedly met with the Buccaneers about the general manager position. Chiefs director of pro personnel Chris Ballard, who joined Vital as an early candidate for the job, declined to interview for the position.
