Jim Caldwell’s apparently wasting no time assembling a staff in Detroit.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Eagles quarterback coach Bill Lazor is lined up to be Caldwell’s offensive coordinator.

Lazor had previously interviewed with the Dolphins, and given the success of the Eagles offense and the development of quarterback Nick Foles, interest is natural.

The 41-year-old Lazor has also worked for the Falcons, Redskins and Seahawks, but was offensive coordinator at Virginia when Chip Kelly plucked him away for his first Eagles staff.

He’ll have a talented cast to work with in Detroit, walking into a situation with an established quarterback and perhaps the best receiver in the game, in Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson.
