All Seahawks practiced, except Percy Harvin

AP

Five days after suffering a concussion in a divisional-round win over the Saints, Seattle receiver Percy Harvin has not received clearance to practice.  With three days to go until the NFC title game, it’s not looking good for Harvin.

The good news for the Seahawks is that he’s the only member of the team who didn’t practice on Thursday.  Defensive tackle Jordan Hill, who missed practice Wednesday with a groin injury, practiced on a limited basis a day later.  Running back Marshawn Lynch, who got the day off on Wednesday, fully participated on Thursday.

Linebacker K.J. Wright also was able to fully participate on Thursday, a day after practicing on a limited basis due to a foot injury.

Wright last played more than a month ago, against the 49ers.  He’s on track to face them again.

Harvin still needs to be cleared to practice and separately to play by an independent neurologist.  Otherwise, he won’t be suiting up on Sunday.

  1. My gut instinct tells me that Percy will end up playing on Sunday. However, should we not have him then, we’ll surely have him for the super bowl cuz we’ll still win against the 49ers. Didn’t need him to beat em in Seattle before, and we won’t need him Sunday. Although, it’d be nice to have him out there. Go Hawks!!!

  2. Do u really think a guy whos not played all yr will help?? I just cant wait to see the game.. niners goin up there to pull off the biggest upset of the yr!! Kapp is the best qb in this match up…boldin will school big mouth again…. IM just wondering if the sea hawks really want the niners to play them…. sea hawk fans think 49ers are just goin to give it to them…..HEY Sherman u think this is just another glorified practice???
    goooooooooooooooooo49ers

  3. I’m a Vikings fan that’s bitter towards him, but I have to admit that I hated seeing him take those two shots to his head. I don’t think anyone can use that towards their case that he is fragile and can’t stay healthy.

  4. It will not be close. 9ers lose control early because of Kaepernick miscues and inaccuracy. Seattle starts with excellent ball position on two series, and the rest is history.

    Seahawks: 27
    49ers: 6

  5. You can’t ask for a better game set up than ‘everyone healthy’ pretty much on both teams and weather will not be a factor.

    Let the best team win!

Go Seahawks! Go 12th man —

Haha, okay. You know full well several concussed players (like Larry Fitzgerald) suited up the next Sunday after missing most of the week’s practices. Friday is the real key here.

  7. Does anyone not think Pete Carroll knows the neurologist? Harvin will miraculously recover Sunday morning…

  8. Why would he practice now? He never has. He is collecting a check. Minn got the better end of that deal. Why do you think they let him go?

  9. Friends remarked that they found him at home watching a Cheech & Chong marathon while self medicating for his migraines, I mean concussion, or is it nose bleeds?

  10. My lord, his injury-proneness was notable while in Minnesota, but it was nothing close to the what he’s exhibiting in Seattle. It must be something in the water up there. Huh. SMH.

I hope Percy has one helluva financial adviser, because if these problems spill-over into next season – he can expect a release and a signigicant pay downgrade with another club. And, in all likelihood, a legacy of a player that had HOF ability but spent the majority of his career in the training room.

  11. Hey Vikings fans… given the personnel exchanges between the Vikings and the Seahawks the last several years, where do you think Cordarelle Patterson will be signing as a free agent when his rookie contract expires? Think about it.

    What?? Nothing to say now??

  12. Im a fan of Harvin but he’s never going to live up to the money he was paid. Dude would rather get high and swim in his millions. Vikings hosed Seattle and everyone including their fans know it.
CP84 is already better than Harvin with the actual drive to succeed. Sky’s the limit for CP84 and highs the limit for Percy.

  13. Percy is fragile physically and especially mentally. Don’t be surprised if his “migraines” conveniently appear around the time of training camp.

  14. Vikings fan here. I loved watching him play, even wanted to see him play all year with the Hawks.
–feel very sorry for him. He was great with Favre, but then a HOF QB knows where to throw it without risking the guy’s life… He will have a history of injuries because he tries to run through and over the defense, while CP84 will stay healthy because he runs around them.

  15. Concussions from impact are not a reflection on “soft-ness” of anyone. Harvin was doing well and his hip issue has gotten better. He will return and be effective for the Hawks before it is all said and done. Too early to say his signing was a mistake by the Hawk’s front office.

  16. If anyone watched Percy’s last game he was heavily targeted as part of the offense. After he was ruled out the offense got nowhere. It was weird how a guy who played one game all year was so vital to the team.

  17. I am betting the house! I know its impossible to guarantee a win from both sides but I am going there. The only thing you need to know is this:
The 49ers made adjustments with Carolina and they will with

seahawks, Carol is praising 12th man….could be disastress when Niners strike early….EXPERIENCE, AND BEING WHIPPED TWICE IS AND WAS A BLESSING. This will sting even more than Seattles Super Bowl loss….carrying into next year……Believe this: 27-20 49ers win!
