Early indications out of Denver were that the Broncos weren’t too concerned about the Super Bowl availability of either running back Knowshon Moreno or cornerback Tony Carter after they were forced out of the AFC Championship Game with injuries.

The latest update does nothing to change that outlook. Broncos coach John Fox said Monday, via the Denver Post, that Moreno, who injured his ribs when getting tackled by Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins in the fourth quarter, was day-to-day after x-rays showed no serious damage.

Moreno led the team with 59 rushing yards on Sunday and had 1,038 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in an excellent season. Assuming Moreno makes it back in time for the Super Bowl, the New Jersey native will get a chance to play in his home state come February 2.

Carter’s injury was originally announced as a concussion, but Fox backtracked from that today. The coach said Carter is fine after suffering a pinched nerve while trying to make a tackle in the fourth quarter.
