Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has dealt with groin injuries in each of the last two seasons.
Now it appears Peterson will finally have surgery to address the issue.
According to Josina Anderson of ESPN.com, Peterson has elected to undergo surgery on his groin in the near future.
Peterson was scheduled to meet with Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia to ultimately determine whether surgery was necessary. Meyers performed hernia surgery on Peterson after the 2012 season.
The surgery likely wouldn’t have any affect on Peterson’s availability for the start of training camp next season.
Peterson missed a pair of games in December 2013 (he also had a foot injury), but Peterson still rushed for 1,266 yards.
