Three Seahawks miss practice

Baldwin

Since the Super Bowl comes only once per year, it’s easy (for me) to forget the rituals.

For instance, I’d forgotten that injury reports are issued during the off week before the teams go to the site of the Super Bowl. By next year at this time, I’ll likely forget again.

But reports are indeed issued during the bye week, and the best news for the Seahawks is that receiver Percy Harvin fully participated in Wednesday’s session.

Absent for the Seahawks were three players: receiver Doug Baldwin (hip; pictured), running back Marshawn Lynch (knee), and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (ankle).

On Monday, coach Pete Carroll said that Baldwin has a hip pointer, that Mebane’s ankle is sore, and that Lynch will need some rest after getting banged up on Sunday night.

Baldwin accounted for 106 yards receiving and Lynch rushed for 109 in the NFC title game. At this point, there’s no reason to think either could be in danger of missing Super Bowl XLVIII.
