Redskins coach Jay Gruden has himself a running backs coach.
The Redskins announced that they have hired Randy Jordan to work with Alfred Morris and the rest of the team’s backs. Jordan replaces Bobby Turner, who was a longtime assistant to Mike Shanahan in both Denver and Washington.
Jordan comes to Washington from the University of North Carolina, where he was the running backs coach for the last two years. Jordan, who was an inaugural member of the Jaguars in 1995 and played nine years in the NFL, has also worked at Nebraska and Texas A&M. Former Redskins running back and running backs coach Earnest Byner also interviewed for the job.
Jordan joins a staff that now includes offensive coordinator Sean McVay, wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard, tight ends coach Wes Phillips and offensive line coach Chris Foerster.
