The Broncos have arrived for the Super Bowl and, predictably, the weather was a popular topic when they met the media in New Jersey on Sunday.
Count wide receiver Wes Welker in the group that thinks concerns about Denver’s ability to succeed should conditions get perilous won’t amount to anything. Welker said he didn’t see a problem for the Broncos throwing the ball in bad weather and that his time with New England left him feeling good about whatever Mother Nature may bring on gameday.
“I feel good about it. I played in this for six years so I have a good idea of what to expect and what to be ready for, different things like that,” Welker said at the team’s press conference. “It really didn’t feel too bad out there just walking over here to this boat and things like that. I’m looking forward to it, this is what football is supposed to be ... You remember growing up playing in the snow with your buddies and everything like that and enjoying it.”
There will probably be a lot of variations on Welker’s answer throughout the week from the Broncos. There will be variations in the forecast as well, but the Seahawks defense will be there regardless of the weather and the Broncos’ time is best spent focused in that direction rather than gazing skyward to see if the sun is shining.
