Cromartie: Marijuana-smoking “we” doesn’t include “him”

Antonio Cromartie was apparently using the royal “we” when referring to smoking marijuana.

Shortly after reports surfaced from his interview with rapper 50 Cent’s website that indicated he thought enforcing a marijuana ban was futile — saying “we’re just going to do it anyway” — he quickly took to Twitter to clarify his stance.

“And for my followers I don’t smoke and I haven’t smoked anything in my life,” he added in another tweet. “I never seen the need too [sic].”

It’s a predictable hand-washing excuse, but whether Cromartie himself smokes or not isn’t the point.

The point is that plenty of players are, whether the league tests for it or not.
