Even though his father was fired earlier this week, there’s still a Lombardi on the Browns payroll.

For now.

According to Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com, Matt Lombardi remains with the team, even after his father Mike was fired.

Matt’s a part-time assistant in the personnel department, and the team said he could stay if he wanted.

“Matt is well-liked by both our personnel staff and coaches,” Browns spokesman Zak Gilbert said. “He’s welcome to stay in his part-time role but has not made that decision as of yet.”

It’s hard to imagine he’ll hang around for long, especially since he’s not a full-time employee. But unless his dad can find something for him at his next stop, he might not have a choice.
