Jaguars re-sign Clay Harbor and Sam Young

The Jaguars may have a lot of holes to fill after a 4-12 season, but depth at tackle doesn’t appear to be one of them.

As reported earlier, the team signed tackle Cameron Bradfield to a two-year extension on Thursday and their announcement of that deal also included the news that tackle Sam Young will also return. Young joined the team on waivers in October after being waived by the Bills. He didn’t play much, but said, via the team’s website, that he’s looking forward to an opportunity to do more in 2014.

“Every year’s a new year,” Young said. “We haven’t hit free agency or the draft, so everything can be up in the air, but from my point of view, I’m just looking for an opportunity. I just want to take advantage of it. I want to help team anyway I can and I’m looking forward to proving it.”

Luke Joeckel and Austin Pasztor are expected to be the left and right tackle, respectively, so Bradfield and Young will likely be competing for the third spot on the depth chart.

The Jaguars also announced that they re-signed tight end Clay Harbor. Harbor was claimed off waivers from the Eagles in September and had 28 catches last year before breaking his ankle in the regular season finale. He’s expected to be healthy in time for camp and should slot in behind Marcedes Lewis again next season.

UPDATE 2:58 p.m. ET: Young’s two-year deal has a maximum value of $2.575 million, per a league source.
