The Redskins have bolstered their linebacking corps and special teams coverage units.
The club has reached a three-year deal with Buccaneers reserve linebacker Adam Hayward, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reported Tuesday.
An eighth-year pro, the 29-year-old Hayward has started 13 regular season games in his NFL career. Hayward (6-1, 240) projects to inside linebacker in Washington’s 3-4 scheme and would also figure to be a core special teams player.
