After his release by the Seahawks, defensive tackle Red Bryant made his way to Jacksonville for a reunion with former Seahawks defensive coordinator and current Jaguars coach Gus Bradley.

Lightning might not strike twice, but the Seattle-to-Jacksonville pipeline could produce a second defensive lineman for the Jaguars. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that defensive end Chris Clemons, who was released on Wednesday, is headed to meet with Jacksonville and that there is a lot of “mutual interest” in striking a deal.

Clemons returned from a 2012 torn ACL to pick up 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 14 games for the Super Bowl champs. He was expendable in Seattle, but his pass rushing skills would fit on a Jaguars team lacking threats in that area. It may be in a lesser role than he’s accustomed to playing, but Clemons probably shouldn’t expect much more than that with his 33rd birthday coming up.

Cornerback Walter Thurmond wasn’t cut by the Seahawks, but the free agent also visited his former coordinator and could add to the Seattle flavor on the Jags defense next season.
