The Packers, who have been skilled at retaining their best free agents in recent years, have re-signed one of their key front seven players of 2013.

Outside linebacker/defensive end Mike Neal has reached a two-year deal to stay in Green Bay, the linebacker said on his verified Twitter account. Multiple media outlets, including the Green Bay Press-Gazette, also reported Neal had re-signed.

PFT’s No. 37 free agent of 2014, the 26-year-old Neal recorded a career-best 47 tackles and five sacks in 2013 for Green Bay. He started a career-high 10 games this season, all at left outside linebacker. Neal (6-3, 285) has also played end in Green Bay’s 3-4 front.
