Chargers agree with Reggie Walker, Brandon Ghee

The Chargers are bringing back a versatile defender, agreeing to terms with linebacker Reggie Walker on a two-year contract, the club said Thursday night.

Walker (6-0, 244) made four starts at outside linebacker and two starts at inside linebacker in 2013. The 27-year-old Walker appeared in all 16 games, notching 36 tackles and three sacks.

The Chargers also announced they had reached a two-year contract with Bengals cornerback Brandon Ghee, who played 23 regular season games in four seasons with Cincinnati. A third-round pick in 2010, the 26-year-old Ghee joins a Chargers defense that’s far from settled at cornerback, so he stands a chance to make the roster if he can stay healthy.

  1. They got a good one in Brandon Ghee. He’s tall, strong and quick with good cover skills. With Adam Jones and Terrance Newman getting so old it just doesn’t make any sense for the Bengals to let him go. But it seems Mike Brown and coach Giggles can’t wait to get rid of good players…. and good coaches.

The Bengals lost Mike Zimmer to Minnesota and replaced him with a linebacker coach who’s never done anything like this before. Good Grief! Mike Johnson gone. Anthony Collins gone. Andrew Hawkins probably gone. And that’s just so far! They’re poised to give Andy Dalton (eyeroll) and A.J. Green boatloads of cash in 2015. Too bad there won’t be any other players on the team.

  2. Brandon ghee is underrated. He’s a good player was just injured and barried by Cincinnati’s plethora of 1rst round corner back talent

  3. So… Terence Newman is 36 and Adam Jones will be 31… and… Bengals owner mike brown is asleep again.

Not that Brandon Ghee is a TOP cornerback… but… it would be nice for “my” Bengals to have some depth and youth at cornerback.

Instead of signing players at positions of weak depth (corner/wide receiver/center/guard)…. mike brown is p ssing his pajamas while sleeping.

  4. If someone wants to pay our 5th corner, fine by me. The Bengals are going to draft one this year, which meant Ghee likely would have been cut anyway if they go with 5 CBs and 5 Ss. The only bad part is that Ghee was finally start to show something after being a fixture on the injury list and IR in previous years. Good luck to him in the future.
