Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco worked in Indianapolis before heading out to California and he’s bringing a familiar face out to join him and the rest of the Chargers in the sunshine.

Linebacker Kavell Conner spent time visiting with the team on Wednesday and won’t need to take any more trips after agreeing to terms with the team on Thursday. Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports it is a three-year deal.

Conner started 36 games over his first three years with the Colts, but didn’t start any games in 2013 and saw his playing time drop considerably over the course of the season. Conner doesn’t figure to start in San Diego with Donald Butler and Manti Te’o holding down the inside linebacker spots for the Chargers. When Conner has played, he’s done his best work against the run so you’d expect his playing time to come in those situations.

Telesco isn’t the only member of the Chargers organization with ties to the current Colts administration. Defensive coordinator John Pagano’s brother Chuck is the Colts’ head coach and, now, the man who will help determine what Conner does to help the Chargers.
