Giants slated to meet with Rodgers-Cromartie after Jets

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie’s last game was at MetLife Stadium and the chances he’ll be playing there next season are getting better.

As previously reported, the cornerback is scheduled to fly to New Jersey to visit with the Jets this weekend. Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that Rodgers-Cromartie is then slated to meet with the Giants, although that meeting is obviously contingent on Rodgers-Cromartie failing to reach agreement on a deal with the Jets.

The Giants re-signed Trumaine McBride to go with Prince Amukamara at corner, but Rodgers-Cromartie would give them the kind of depth needed to match up with the better passing offenses in the league. With Stevie Brown back, the Giants are well-stocked at safety as well so Rodgers-Cromartie’s arrival would give them a lot of options in the secondary.

They’ll need him to get past the Jets for that to happen, though, and the possibility of losing a good corner to the other team in the stadium might get the Jets to hit Rodgers-Cromartie’s price.
