The Vikings have re-signed a wide receiver known for his highlight-reel ability.

The club said Friday it had reached an agreement with Jerome Simpson, who finished second on the club in catches (48) and yards (726) in 2013.

The 28-year-old Simpson has made 36 regular season starts in six NFL seasons. A second-round pick of Cincinnati in 2008, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Simpson played four seasons for the Bengals before joining the Vikings in 2012. He has hauled in 145 passes for 2,004 yards and eight TDs in his pro career, displaying field-stretching skill and some rare athleticism at times.

PFT’s No. 103-ranked free agent, Simpson rejoins a Minnesota receiving corps with some intriguing playmaking ability. In addition to Simpson, the Vikings have Greg Jennings, Cordarelle Patterson and Jarius Wright on the depth chart at receiver.
