Sean Lee cleared for offseason workouts

Linebacker Sean Lee hasn’t played a full 16 games in the regular season in any of his four years with the Cowboys, something the team hopes changes in 2014.

A lack of offseason workouts won’t get in the way of Lee fulfilling that goal. Calvin Watkins of reports that Lee has been medically cleared for offseason workouts after a torn ligament in his neck brought his 2013 season to an early end.

Lee missed the final three games of the season as a result of the neck injury, which occurred in a December 9 loss to the Bears. That was Lee’s first game back in the lineup after missing two games with a hamstring injury and the Cowboys went 2-3m including a season-ending and playoff-hope extinguishing loss to the Eagles in Week 17, with Lee out of the lineup.

Lee restructured his contract to help the Cowboys get under the salary cap and add players who could improve the team for next season. His presence in the lineup for every game would be a considerable bonus as well.
