Titans re-sign Antonio Johnson

The Titans have switched defensive coordinators this offseason with Ray Horton replacing Jerry Gray in a move that’s expected to bring more of a 3-4 look to Tennessee.

Such a change in scheme can often lead to big changes in personnel, but defensive tackle Antonio Johnson will be back with the team. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Johnson has agreed to a two-year deal with the team.

Johnson played every game last season, starting six times and finishing the year with a career-high three sacks. He spent the previous five seasons with the Colts, where he played in a 3-4 and made 46 starts over five seasons so his experience in the system likely helped him stick in Tennessee.

Johnson joins safety Bernard Pollard and defensive end Ropati Pitoitua as free agent defenders re-signed by the team this offseason.
