Titans quarterback Jake Locker is reportedly recovering well from Lisfranc foot surgery.
In a story published by the Nashville Tennessean on Thursday, Locker told reporter Jim Wyatt that he’s progressing after the November foot injury that ended his 2013 season.
“Surgery went really well,” Locker told the Tennessean. “Foot feels awesome and rehab is up and rolling. Doctors were happy with how things looked so (I’m) just continuing to follow that trend.”
According to the Tennessean, Locker is no longer wearing a walking boot for the injury.
The No. 8 overall pick in 2011, Locker threw for 1,256 yards and eight touchdowns and four interceptions a season ago for Tennessee. Before the foot injury, he missed a pair of games with a hip ailment.
Locker is entering the final year of his contract. The Titans have until May 3 to exercise an option to extend his deal for another season. However, in this scenario, he would be due a 2015 salary of the “cap percentage average” of the top 10 highest-salaried quarterbacks of 2014, according to the CBA.
Charlie Whitehurst and Tyler Wilson are the Titans’ backups. It’s possible the Titans could add a passer in the draft, too.
