Panthers add John Ramsdell to offensive staff

The Panthers have apparently added an experienced offensive mind to staff.

And we say apparently, because it came out in about the most accidental, new media way possible.

Via Bill Voth of SportsXchange, acting on a tip from a Twitter follower and a message board, the Panthers now list John Ramsdell as a senior offensive assistant.

That’s a good get for a staff which needs all the help it can get (no word on whether Ramsdell can run routes). The longtime assistant coach under Dick Vermeil in the Greatest Show on Turf days, Ramsdell worked in San Diego with coach Ron Rivera.

He’ll help lend some passing-game ballast to a staff led by coordinator Mike Shula.

Now if they give him some receivers to move around along with Cam Newton and their backs, he might look smarter still.
