The Dolphins are reportedly taking a look at a wide receiver who’s a Miami-area native.

The club is meeting with ex-Texans wideout Lestar Jean on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of National Football Post reported. The Dolphins are also putting Jean through a workout, Wilson reported.

Jean, 26, has caught 10 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown since entering the NFL with Houston in 2011. The Texans did not tender him contract as a restricted free agent.

Jean (6-3, 202) attended Miami Norland Senior High School in Miami Gardens. He played college football at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

  1. Roster/Camp body. Best of luck to him and all South Florida players trying to come up.

  2. I think its a great idea! Let the NFL pay college players for three years. Lets say 20 grand a year. All of them. One stipulation, student player has to maintain a B average in school. HAHAHAHA. Nobody gets paid.
