Ravens re-sign Terrence Cody

The Ravens have kept busy the last couple of days by adding free agents Owen Daniels and Justin Forsett and they kept on working Friday.

The team has announced that they’ve reached agreement on a contract that will keep defensive tackle Terrence Cody with the team for the 2014 season. Cody was a free agent after playing out the contract he signed after the Ravens drafted him in the second round of the 2010 draft.

Cody’s return has been a possibility since he visited with the team last week to discuss continuing their working relationship. Cody has played 56 games for the Ravens since joining the team, starting 21 times and filling a run-stopping role for the most part.

With Arthur Jones leaving for Indianapolis as a free agent, the Ravens have talked about Brandon Williams moving into the starting lineup alongside Haloti Ngata and Chris Canty. Cody would presumably battle for backup snaps if the team goes through with that alignment come the regular season.
