We’ll have to wait to see if the Texans use the first pick in the draft on a defensive lineman.
But they continue to get younger up front, regardless.
According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans signed former Colts defensive tackle Ricardo Mathews.
Matthews spent the last four years with the Colts, and has played defensive end in a 3-4 alignment. The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder has been a solid rotational player in the past, with six career starts.
The Texans lost veterans Antonio Smith and Earl Mitchell in free agency, and brought in former Chiefs defensive tackle Jerrell Powe.
