The Lions signed center Sherman Carter and wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt on Friday, according to the NFL’s transactions.

According to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com, Carter and Roosevelt tried out for the Lions during the club’s voluntary workouts this week.

The 26-year-old Roosevelt appeared in 16 regular season games for Buffalo from 2010 through 2011, hauling in 25 passes for 396 yards and a touchdown. He spent the 2013 preseason with the Browns, appearing in two games. The Browns waived him on August 31.

Carter, 25, signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State last May. The Niners waived him on August 2.
