The Falcons haven’t made any big moves at tight end in the wake of Tony Gonzalez’s retirement, but they may have a smaller one in the works.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that Bear Pascoe is working out for the team on Thursday. Pascoe was a sixth-round pick of the 49ers in 2009, but made his debut with the Giants late that season and has played in all but two games for Tom Coughlin’s team over the last four seasons.

Pascoe has only 38 catches in those 66 appearances and has mostly been used as a blocker over the course of his NFL career. That would be a good fit alongside second-year player Levine Toilolo, whose height and size make him an intriguing but inexperienced red zone target and blocker.

Whether the Falcons sign Pascoe or not, there appears to be a lot more three and four wide receiver looks in their future. As long as Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas are healthy, tight end won’t be the presence in the passing game it was when Gonzalez was in town.
