Of all the decisions about 2011 first-rounders and fifth-year options, the Cowboys had one of the easiest.

According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas, the Cowboys are picking up the option for 2015 for left tackle Tyron Smith.

This was one of the biggest no-brainers of the group, as Smith has become a cornerstone left tackle.

The option year is worth $10.039 million next year, but they’d like to get him signed to a long-term deal before then.

That’s still a bargain, considering the first four years of his deal were worth $12.496 million combined.
