The NFL invited 30 players to the draft.  Twenty-one were drafted on Thursday night.

When the proceedings reconvene on Friday, nine will be back.

They are quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (pictured), defensive lineman Kony Ealy, defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman, tackle Cyrus Kouandjio, receiver Cody Latimer, receiver Marqise Lee, tackle Morgan Moses, receiver Jordan Matthews, and center Marcus Martin.

Defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, who initially was scheduled to attend but who canceled after generating a diluted sample at the Scouting Combine, also has not been picked.

Of course, there’s a chance one or more won’t return.  But none of the nine were definitely expected to be taken in the first round.  Most if not all will be gone by the end of round two.

  1. These agents need to be fired. Placing your client in this position is unconscionable. Also, Lee is going to be an absolute steal for someone.

  2. Incredible depth at Wide Receiver with Lee and Matthews still available. I understand the Seahawks trading down 32 to 40 with the Vikes. Either would upgrade Golden Tate for a rookie salary. Don’t know about Cody Latimer but several first round quality players left in very deep draft class overall.

  3. Definitely the deepest draft in a long time. A few bad teams are going to improve quickly and good ones will become great. It may not be one of those QB class drafts, but it could be looked back on as one of the best ever for overall contributions.

  4. Quite a bit of talent left after the first round. It truly is a deep draft. Ealy and Nix are beasts and I cannot believe Lee is still there.

  5. I think those Brownies will take Marqise Lee. Im hoping RAIDERS can snag him or the canceled invitee Jernigan. I just DONT want a QB. McGloin showed hes capable to back up so why draft another?

  6. Even though it’s rough to sit there and watch other guys get selected, it’s an experience not to be missed. Kudos to these guys for showing up and being willing to take it all in even if that means going back to the hotel at the end of the night.

  7. Why do they call it the “Green Room?” Is it because that’s the place you’ll start the draft off by looking at a roomful of multi-millionaires?
