Rams add Aaron Donald to their first-round haul

The Rams made Greg Robinson the first offensive tackle selected in the 2014 NFL Draft with the second pick and they made Aaron Donald the first defensive tackle off the board with the 13th pick.

Donald is an explosive player off the line who made a lot of plays for Pittsburgh during his collegiate career to come into the offseason as a top prospect. His stock continued to rise after a strong showing at the Senior Bowl and outstanding combine workouts before the elevator deposited him at lucky No. 13.

He’ll plug into the center of a line that already creates a lot of havoc on the outside with defensive ends Robert Quinn and Chris Long. Donald could be a third prong in that attack that would have offensive coordinators picking their poison on every pass play if Donald develops into the player many believe he can be.

The NFC West had three teams that won at least 10 games last season. With Robinson and Donald landing in St. Louis, the division just got even more interesting.
