As we noted a few hours ago when it was reported the Texans were “locked in” on the top pick and didn’t expect a trade, it was far too early to call that.

And now, amazingly since nearly four hours have passed, things may have.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, there’s still a chance of a deal with the Texans for the top pick, and that talks could pick up when they’re on the clock.

Well, yeah.

If the Texans want to make a deal, they should wait until the very last minute to see if someone blinks and gives them a Robert Griffin III-type haul for the choice.

And until then, you can’t be surprised if someone does.
