Terrance West lands in Cleveland

West

The Browns still need help at receiver. With the 30th pick in round three, acquired via trade with the 49ers, the Browns opted for running back Terrance West.

The Towson tailback generated plenty of buzz in recent weeks, with the Falcons taking a very close look at him.

Rated as the second-best tailback by DraftNasty.com, West has good size (225 pounds) and speed (4.54 seconds), but fumbling (not to be confused with butt fumbling) has at times been a problem.

He’ll need to solve that problem at the next level, where the defenders make a more direct effort to dislodge the ball.

West joins a depth chart that includes Ben Tate, who arrived via free agency from Houston. Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s system relies on running backs who can execute the one-cut approach, hitting the hole and exploding for as much yardage as possible.
