Bears General Manager Phil Emery detailed an interesting study last week, pointing out how late-round developmental quarterbacks are kind of a waste of time.
So naturally, he took one.
The Bears took San Jose State quarterback David Fales with the 183rd overall pick in the sixth round.
The Bears have Jordan Palmer behind starter Jay Cutler, so there’s a spot for someone to hang around at the bottom of the roster. Fales doesn’t have the same kind of big arm as Cutler, but he’s smart and accurate.
But the funny part is that Emery would contradict himself so quickly.
