Seahawks beef up pass rush with Cassius Marsh

Marsh

For the last several years, plenty of tentacles have extended between the Vikings and the Seahawks. The latest connection could end up being one of the most intriguing.

With the ninth pick in the first round, the Vikings took UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr. With the fourth-round pick obtained by the Vikings when Minnesota traded back to the bottom of the first round for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, the Seahawks took UCLA defensive end Cassius Marsh.

In connection with our position-by-position previews on NBCSN’s Pro Football Talk, a seasoned and respected NFL scout told me that Barr is regarded as the most overrated pass rusher in the class -- and that Marsh is regarded as the most underrated pass rusher.

From that point, an apples-to-apples comparison became inevitable for the two players. The fact that one plays for the Vikings and the other was drafted with a pick sent by the Vikings to the Seahawks makes the situation even more compelling.

At least for us. The rest of you may not care. If so, scroll down to the next story.
