The Bears have moved closer to having all of their draft picks under contract.
The club has reached deals with second-round selection Ego Ferguson and sixth-round choice Patrick O’Donnell, the team announced on Tuesday night.
A defensive tackle from LSU, Ferguson (6-2, 315) figures to see playing time in the Bears’ defensive line rotation as a rookie. He recorded 85 tackles (five for loss) in 38 collegiate games.
O’Donnell (6-4, 220) is the favorite to capture the Bears’ punting job. He posted a 40.0-yard net average on 53 punts in 2013 for Miami (Fla.).
The Bears’ lone undrafted draft picks are cornerback Kyle Fuller (Round One) and defensive tackle Will Sutton (Round Three).
