Cowboys sign (West) Texas A&M quarterback

Graham

During the draft, the Dallas Cowboys resisted the temptation to draft Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. After the draft, the Cowboys gave in to the temptation to sign a quarterback from West Texas A&M.

Dustin Vaughan has joined the Cowboys, the team announced on Tuesday. He’s perhaps better known for producing a hilarious promotional video, which shows him working out while wearing a Christmas sweater.

And while its long shot for Vaughan to make the team, an undrafted quarterback signed 11 years ago by the Cowboys climbed the ladder to become the team’s starter.

Vaughan was one of 24 undrafted free agents signed by the Cowboys. The rest were Illinois State tackle Josh Aladenoye, Vanderbilt receiver Chris Boyd, Bloomsburg guard Brian Clarke, Arizone defensive tackle Davon Coleman, Louisiana State fullback JC Copeland, Bengals guard Andre’ Cureton, Iowa long snapper Casey Kreiter, Texas A&M running back Ben Malena, Alabama punter Cody Mandell, Baylor running back Glasco Martin, Baylor tight end Jordan Najvar, South Carolina guard Ronald Patrick, Tarleton State cornerback Dashaun Phillips, Akron guard Jarrod Pughsley, Ferris State safety Marvin Robinson, Tennessee linebacker Dontavis Sapp, Bethel-Tennessee cornerback Jocquel Skinner, San Jose State linebacker Keith Sims, Auburn safety Ryan Smith, Missouri receiver L’Damian Washington, Texas defensive tackle Chris Whaley, Illinois tight end Evan Wilson, and Northern Illinois linebacker Joe Windsor.
