All criminal charges against Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton have been dropped, after he was initially accused of biting a bar owner in the kidney in 2013.

According to the Associated Press, Tarrant County prosecutors on Wednesday announced the misdemeanor case against Melton had been dismissed at the request of the bar owner.

The civil claim had been previously settled, but prosecutors said neither side paid any damages. Melton was arrested last December in Grapevine, Tex., on misdemeanor assault and public intoxication, after an incident outside a bar.

The former Bears franchise player signed a cut-rate deal with the Cowboys this offseason, which makes it a good thing he’s not paying off a civil claim.
