Bucs hire former Chargers scout as college director

With the NFL Draft in the books, it’s time for the guys who prepared for them to line up work for the future.

The Buccaneers announced they hired Mike Biehl as director of college scouting.

Biehl spent the last 13 years with the Chargers, the last six as their assistant director of college scouting.

“I have great respect for Mike’s professionalism, work ethic and knowledge of players that I have seen firsthand while scouting over the past 13 years,” Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht said in a statement. “He’s coming from an organization that has been among the winningest and most successful in the NFL during his time there and whose foundation has been built around draft picks, which was important as we researched all candidates.”

Biehl’s first job in the league was in the personnel department with the Bills.

  1. I think the Buccaneers should change their name. I’m offended. One of my family members from several hundred years ago was the victim of piracy and had some gold medallions stolen, and was made to walk the plank, and ended up with a severe disfigurement.

The way the Buccaneers use the name glorifies people of violence (it would be offensive to call them violent people).

I am calling on 50 Senators and Tom Cruise to send a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodhead, and demand action.

Also, ask the City of Tampa to remove the pirate ship from Raymond James Stadium. That is an offensive icon.
