Sean Lee injured during non-contact practice

SeanLee

With most of the league back on the field this week, comes another reminder about the essential lie of non-contact practices.

Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was just helped off the field by trainers, according to multiple tweets from the scene, after he was blocked to the ground by rookie guard Zach Martin.

Lee was apparently quite upset as he was limping off the practice field, using some choice profanity after the injury.

When well, Lee has been among the best inside linebackers in the league. Staying that way has been a problem, however.

He missed five of the last six games last year, has missed the last two win-or-go-home regular season finales, and hasn’t played 16 games in a season yet. Yet the Cowboys gave him a seven-year, $42.6 million contract last August.

Now they have to hold their breath and hope the latest injury isn’t a serious one.
