PFT Live: Dolphins talk with Armando Salguero, PFT Planet calls and tweets

The Dolphins started OTAs on Tuesday, marking another step toward the 2014 season and away from a 2013 season that unraveled in the second half.

Part of that was because of the revelation and investigation of Jonathan Martin’s harassment at the hands of his former teammates and the rest was taken care of with losses to the Bills and Jets in the last two weeks to assure that Miami finished out of the playoffs. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald will join Mike Florio on Wednesday’s PFT Live to discuss what the team is doing to assure better results on both fronts this time around.

Florio will also be answering questions from PFT Planet during the show. Send in your queries via Twitter — @ProFootballTalk — or give a call to 888-237-5269 during the show to let us know what’s on your mind.

It all gets started at noon ET and you can watch it all live by clicking right here.

  1. This is going to be a MUCH better team this year!!! Sweep the junk jets, Jills & beat the patsies 1 time!!! Keeping Tannehill upright will help. I’m also seeing a sweep of the AFC West too especially the Broncos at their own house!!! GO FINS!!!

  2. Make or break for #17. Unlike Jake Locker, Tannehill has been on the field, but primarily on the field – on his back. That can be no excuse for any QB, however. At the end of the day, a QB is judged on W/L and individual production.

This franchise goes the way Tannehill goes. This is it for him. Things have not shaken out for him with all the turmoil, but remember he was a project coming in, who played more WR than QB prior to the NFL.

In my view, he was a long shot pushed up by a media who had no idea about how good he could be. With a slow start, I will not be surprised if he is replaced. By all accounts, he’s a nice kid who works hard, but maybe he’s in over his head.

  3. The Dolphins should be better simply based on the fact that their Oline play could not be worse and their offensive play calling cannot be more predictable than last year…

  4. The media follows this team around like they still have Marino as their QB…and what in the hell did he ever win team wise? This is a team going nowhere and taking their bandwagon fans with them just like previous years. How are those season ticket sales going?

  5. Tannehill doubled his touchdowns in his second year without a run game or offensive line. I would like to see what he can do with a halfway decent run game and halfway decent offensive line before I pass judgement. Not to mention I believe OC Bill Lazor will produce a much better offensive scheme.

  6. Wait! There was some issue on the O-Line with the Dolphins last year? Must of missed it. Haven’t seen anything about it for about THREE MINUTES. The horse is dead! Stop it!

  7. Look @ all the so-called fans of other teams chatting in here about the Dolphins, just goes to show the PHINS are their favorite team too.

  8. Dolphins 8-8 after losing last 2.
Browns 4-12 after losing last 7.

Nope. The Browns are still the Browns are still the Browns, and the Dolphins are still the Dolphins. As we can see Dolphin fans, things could certainly be much worse.

Considering the state of the O-line now compared to the end of last year, things are certainly trending up for the Dolphins.

  9. It does amaze me how many other team fans show up for Dolphin news. Just shows how interested they all are. We have not done anything for a long while yet still they come to see what this historic club is up too. The Dolphins have a certain mystic that probably only one or two other teams have. When we do turn this around be prepared for even more envious visitors.
