With receiver Andre Johnson not participating in OTAs, the Houston Texans have elected to add another receiver to their roster in the interim.

The Texans were awarded rookie receiver Kofi Hughes off waivers on Wednesday.

Hughes had been signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent on May 15. He was waived by the team on Tuesday.

Hughes caught 47 passes for 739 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season at the Indiana University last fall. Hughes ended his career with 132 receptions for 1,956 yards and 13 touchdowns in 45 career games for the Hoosiers.

  1. I hope this kid is able to stick somewhere because he can be at total stud. He had to deal with a musical chair QB situation at IU. Kofi, hope you ball out except when you play the Colts.

  2. Had his cap number not been so high, this issue with Andre would have been resolved already. Trade or release this guy before he announces his retirement.

  3. What would it hurt???? Take a look at Vince Young…..
There are a lot worse QBs on NFL rosters that has never had the success Vince Young has had …(NFL Rookie of the Year, 2 Pro Bowls, Playoff experience and Mobility). Vince has a career winning record of 31-19…
He can help this team…even if it’s just upgrading the quarterback pool…

  4. Another brilliant move by Rick Smith. What an idiot. Not to be outdone by the morons that are still clamoring for Vince Young, of course.
