The Giants will reportedly take a look at a veteran tight end who should be well-versed in offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s scheme.

Via Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Giants will put ex-Buccaneers tight end Tom Crabtree through a workout next week.

The 28-year-old Crabtree has played 53 regular season games, catching 22 passes for 323 yards and five touchdowns. Before a one-season stint with Tampa Bay (2013), Crabtree played three seasons for Green Bay (2010-2012). McAdoo was Crabtree’s position coach in his first two NFL seasons.

Crabtree would give the Giants another experienced option at a position where the club doesn’t have a clear top target. Brandon Myers, the Giants’ primary receiving tight end in 2013, signed with Tampa Bay in free agency.
