Eli Manning: I’m 100 percent healthy

After Giants quarterback Eli Manning had ankle surgery, General Manager Jerry Reese suggested he could miss the team’s spring workouts before returning to the field for training camp.

That scenario never came close to fruition. Manning has been a regular participant at the Giants’ organized team activities and said Monday that he’s taken all the reps he would have taken if he didn’t have surgery. That should continue as Manning says his ankle feels totally fine.

“Yeah, 100 percent, yeah,” Manning said, via the Newark Star-Ledger. “The ankle, I don’t think about it, don’t notice it. I go about practice and do everything and they’re not even worried about it. So, it hasn’t been an issue. No question I could play tomorrow.”

Manning is feeling 100 percent healthy, but his confidence level with the team’s new offense isn’t quite that high. Despite his quick return to practice, he said he hasn’t gotten everything down and that the process will continue into the summer. Former Giants quarterback Phil Simms thinks the scheme will be a better fit for Manning than the one he was in while throwing 27 interceptions last year, so being healthy enough to learn it on the field should be a big plus.
