When it comes to off-field trouble, the 49ers have had an eventful offseason. The cleanup could take a bit longer.
As explained recently by NinersNation.com, a preliminary hearing in the criminal case against cornerback Chris Culliver was continued from June 12 to July 10.
Culliver faces a felony charge of possession of brass knuckles and misdemeanor charges of hit-and-run causing injury and hit-and-run causing property damage. Since it’s a first-time offense, he likely won’t face discipline until the case is resolved.
Depending on how quickly, or slowly, the wheels of justice grind, Culliver may not face any league-imposed discipline at all until after the 2014 season.
