The last time Ray Rice and his wife appeared in public, she ended up apologizing for her role in getting knocked out.

Maybe if she apologizes again, it might shorten her husband’s suspension.

According to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, Rice and his wife were at the league headquarters on Park Avenue today, though a league spokesman refused to confirm their visit.

The Ravens running back is expected to be suspended after the incident in which the now happily married couple fought at an Atlantic City casino.

As part of that process, he’ll have to answer questions from commissioner Roger Goodell, something he didn’t do at his disaster of a press conference.

His answers, and perhaps his wife’s, will go a long way toward determining how much time he misses this season.
