Ben Roethlisberger: Heath Miller back to his old self

The Steelers had tight end Heath Miller in the lineup for 14 games last season, but he was never quite the same player that they were used to having after a torn ACL late in the 2013 season.

That was one of several issues that the Steelers offense had to deal with during a frustrating season, but it is one that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger thinks will be less of an issue this season. Roethlisberger said that the team has seen the vintage Miller during this year’s offseason workouts.

“He has looked healthy right from the get-go, looks kind of like the old Heath,” Roethlisberger said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “One of the practices, he caught a pass about 12 yards downfield and made a move and actually made a guy miss, and he finished all the way down the field. That was the Heath Miller we love to see.”

A big rebound from Miller would be a boon to a Steelers offense still looking for a reliable complement to Antonio Brown at wide receiver. If they can find one and Miller remains healthy, things will be pointing in the right direction when Pittsburgh has the ball this season.
