Chargers give up on Brandon Taylor

Taylor

In the last year of G.M. A.J. Smith’s tenure with the Chargers, he picked safety Brandon Taylor in round three. In the second year of G.M. Tom Telesco’s time with the team, the Chargers are moving on.

The Chargers have announced that Taylor has been waived. He appeared in four games with one start as a rookie. In that lone start, Taylor suffered a knee injury, which resulted in his placement on injured reserve. Last year, he was inactive for 16 regular-season games and both playoff games.

“We’d like to thank Brandon for his work and contributions to the Chargers and wish him the best as he continues his career,” Telesco said.

He’ll pass through waivers, since he has less than four years of NFL service. If Taylor clears waivers, he’ll become a free agent.
