Saints sign rookie linebacker Todd Davis

The Saints made a pair of roster moves Monday, signing rookie linebacker Todd Davis and waiving injured cornerback A.J. Davis, the club said.

A Sacramento State product, Todd Davis notched 131 tackles and five sacks as a senior in 2013. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Davis played middle and outside linebacker for the Hornets.

A second-year pro from Jacksonville State, A.J. Davis appeared in one game for the Saints in 2012. He spent the 2013 season on injured reserve.

If A.J. Davis clears waivers, he could revert to injured reserve.

The Saints’ pact with Todd Davis was first reported by Eric Edholm of Yahoo! Sports.

  1. The Saints won that year fair and square, you need to get over it and stop making excuses.

Honestly, it shows very little class.

  2. Too bad guys off to a bad start. New Orleans defense will be abysmal once again this season. Horrible secondary, and linebackers.

  3. Still crying about 2009. Go talk to Favre. He is the one who lost the game for you.

  4. I love how Vikings fans still think the ’09 Lombardi belongs to them. You can’t win championship games with five turnovers. And if you did win, what makes you think you would have beaten the Colts? The Vikings were no better than the third best team that year, maybe fourth. You don’t get a trophy for that.

  5. Super Bowl 2009: Saints made plays against the Vikes to get there. Vikings? they choked, period. end of story…
