Dallas Police Department retracts claim that Aqib Talib was arrested

KeystoneCops

On Sunday morning, the Dallas Police Department made a big splash on Twitter with the “#BREAKING” news that Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib had been arrested for public intoxication after throwing bottles at a Dallas club.

The only problem? It wasn’t him.

The Dallas Police Department finally has reversed course, admitting what agent Todd France told PFT earlier in the hour -- that the man arrested in Yaqub Talib and not Aqib Talib.

"#BREAKING CORRECTION - Yaqub Talib 31yrs old was arrested,” Dallas Police Department Major Max Geron said on Twitter. “My apologies to Aqib Talib. Original information reported was incorrect.”

Of course it was. But why and how did it happen? Geron hasn’t addressed that yet. And he possibly won’t.

Until, that is, his deposition in Aqib’s potential civil lawsuit.
